From the time of its first introduction in 1988 to the present the Tortoise M800 has been Pelikan's most sought after production pens. By the 2010s if you could find one the cost would have been upwards of $2500.

Finally, in 2013, Pelikan responded to the pleadings of the collecting community and issued a Special Edition M800. I have both, of course, and I think that the reissue is every bit as lovely as the original.

This pen is from 2013. We are privileged to have gotten seven of these. Only three remain.

Already the reissue has appreciated in the market and is getting hard to find.
